Responsible drinking and age policy
Last updated 19 August 2026
The short version
You must be 21 or over to buy from us. We check ID at the door, we refuse orders we think are for someone underage, and we would rather lose a sale than get this wrong.
This summary is here to help you read the rest. The clauses below are what actually apply.
Who can buy from us
You must be 21 or over to buy alcohol from this site. That is the legal minimum age across the United States, and we apply it to every order without exception.
By placing an order you confirm that you are 21 or over, and that the person who will accept the delivery is also 21 or over.
How we check
We check age at two points. At checkout you confirm your age. At the door the driver asks for photo ID and checks it against the age on the card.
We accept a driver licence, a state ID card, a passport, or a military ID. It has to be the original document. A photo of an ID on a phone is not accepted.
The name on the ID does not have to match the name on the payment card. Someone else can accept a gift on your behalf, as long as they are 21 or over and can show ID.
When we refuse an order
The driver will not hand over alcohol if nobody can show ID, if the ID looks altered, or if the person accepting it appears to be drunk.
We also refuse where we believe an adult is buying on behalf of someone underage. This is called a proxy sale and it is illegal in every state.
A refused delivery goes back to the depot. We refund the order minus the delivery cost. We do not charge a penalty beyond that.
We never leave alcohol unattended
We cannot leave a box on a doorstep, in a porch, in a mailbox, or with a neighbour, whatever instructions are on your account. Someone 21 or over has to take it in person and sign for it.
Drinking responsibly
Alcohol carries real health risks, and those risks rise with how much and how often you drink. Nobody who sells it should pretend otherwise.
The federal Dietary Guidelines suggest that adults who choose to drink should limit themselves to 2 drinks or fewer a day for men, and 1 drink or fewer a day for women. Drinking less is better for your health than drinking more.
Some people should not drink at all: anyone under 21, anyone who is pregnant or might be, anyone driving or operating machinery, anyone taking medication that reacts with alcohol, and anyone recovering from alcohol use disorder.
For clear, plain information on how alcohol affects the body, see the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.
If drinking has become a problem
If you are worried about your own drinking, or someone else’s, help is free and confidential.
The SAMHSA National Helpline is on 1-800-662-HELP (4357). It is free, confidential, and open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, in English and Spanish. It gives treatment referrals and information, and you do not need insurance to call.

Marketing and who sees it
We do not market to anyone under 21. Our mailing list requires you to confirm your age before you can join, and one click removes you from it.
Reporting a concern
If you think someone underage has ordered from us, or a delivery was handed over without a proper ID check, tell us. Use our contact page and we will look into it and reply.
