Terms of service

The short version
These are the rules for buying from this site. The short version: you must be 21 or over, prices and stock can change before you order, and we can refuse an order where the law requires it.
This summary is here to help you read the rest. The clauses below are what actually apply.
Who we are
This site is operated by Royal Liquor Co. Our licence and company details are on our about page. Contact details are on our contact page.
Using this site
You may browse and buy for your own use. You may not scrape the site, resell our listings, or use our photography or text elsewhere without asking.
You must be 21 or over to buy. Full detail is in our age policy.
Orders and acceptance
Adding something to your basket does not create a contract. A contract starts when we send the email confirming your order has been dispatched.
We may refuse or cancel an order. The usual reasons are that the item is out of stock, the price was listed wrongly, we cannot ship to your address by law, or we believe the order breaks our age policy.
If we cancel after you have paid, you get a full refund.
Prices and payment
Prices include applicable taxes where shown, and exclude delivery unless stated. Delivery cost is shown before you pay.
Prices can change without notice, but the price you see at checkout is the price you pay for that order.
If an item is listed at an obviously wrong price, we will contact you before doing anything, and you can confirm at the correct price or cancel.
Payment is handled by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
Delivery
Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. Full detail is on our delivery page.
Every alcohol delivery needs someone 21 or over to sign and show photo ID. We cannot leave alcohol unattended.
Risk passes to you when the delivery is accepted at the door. Ownership passes when we have received full payment.
Returns and refunds
Alcohol returns are restricted by law in many states. Our policy, and what we can and cannot take back, is set out on our returns page.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights.
Product information
We describe bottles as accurately as we can, including strength, size, age and origin. Labels, packaging and vintages change without notice from the producer, so what arrives may differ slightly from the photograph.
Tasting notes are opinion, not a promise.
Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself. Tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
You can ask us to close your account at any time. We keep order records for as long as tax and licensing law requires.
Our liability
We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care.
We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses. We do not limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Events outside our control
We are not liable for delays caused by events we cannot control, such as extreme weather, strikes, or carrier failure. If a delay is long, you can cancel and get a refund for anything not yet delivered.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published on the day you ordered. The date at the top shows when this page last changed.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the state in which we are licensed. If something goes wrong, contact us first. Most problems are settled in one email.
How to contact us
